About Us

The BIPOC Outdoor Collective was created with organizations of color in mind. Understanding the unique struggles of communities and individuals of color seeking to explore outdoor recreation and conservation spaces, we fill the gap in areas of need that many of our organizations and communities face. These gaps include traditional funding, educational resources, and knowledge of conservation practices and policies. Additionally, we acknowledge and understand the need to protect natural environments and resources that help reduce the impact of climate change on communities of color who are being negatively impacted by climate issues.

Our goal is to empower and elevate the voices of outdoor organizations by creating a more cohesive and collaborative presence in the BIPOC community while sharing resources and information to help strengthen our collective power with constituents, funders, and policymakers.

The BIPOC Outdoor Collective is an amplifier of organizations, communities, and individuals who are striving to gain access to traditional outdoor recreational activities, self-advocacy platforms, and educational resources. Hence we, The BIPOC Outdoor Collective is a conduit, connecting people, resources, and practices to further empower the changing face of conservation, climate awareness, and outdoor recreation.
